In a crowded field of U.S. 8th Congressional District Republican candidates, Dirk Beveridge, a Barrington business consultant, Long Grove Village President Maria Rodriguez and Winnetka businessman Joe Walsh have raised more than $100,000 for their campaigns.

10the Congressional District Briefs: Candidates visit high school

Six of the eight candidates running for the 10th Congressional District gave presentations Jan. 20 to seniors at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire. Democrats Julie Hamos, Dan Seals and Elliot Richardson and Republicans Beth Coulson, Robert Dold and Arie Friedman each were allotted 45 minutes for their talks. The day was organized by teachers of Advanced Placement classes on government, led by Andy Conneen.

eVoter: online election data

For the first time, Pioneer Press, the Sun-Times and its sister papers will provide readers an online election center, through eVoter.com, where they can do everything from check out candidates' backgrounds and endorsements to donate to their campaigns. Sun-Times Media LLC and eVoter announced a partnership Tuesday that links Illinois voters to election information, candidate profiles and organization endorsements in preparation for Illinois' Feb. 2 primary election.
